Reminder

I am much, much smaller now. I do not want to leave you with that nasty little Doppleganger photo to haunt your dreams:

There. Now HoopMamma can sleep better.

HoopMamma is NOT an “exercise junkie” (just in case there was any confusion); in fact, I never intend to be (shocker). I will never get up and go to the gym to “meet my trainer”; I don’t do crunches; and running is only cool because it gives me an excuse to wear short-shorts.On the days that I don’t get my half hour of hooping in, I try not to beat myself up for it, but I get back on the right track immediately. Giving yourself permission to get on and off of a daily hooping practice is KIND, just so long as you don’t let it stop you from achieving your goals.

When I began this blog, my goal was to lose 30 pounds by Christmas. I fell short, and lost 20. I have now reset the clock, and my goal is to lose another 15 pounds (this will put me in the goal range) by Summer (June). Totally do-able.

After owning up that I had stopped “reducing”, and started “maintaining”, I am now ready to commit. This week, I will lose a total of 2 pounds (following the Hoop It Off Program). This will put me at 139 (it is gonna ROCK to hit the 30’s)!

My tip of the week for all HoopMammas is this:

KEEP YOUR HOOP WITHIN REACH. I keep my hoop in my bedroom, where I spin it in the morning for a few minutes before jumping in the shower; one in the living room where I can take it outside while watching the kids play; and a Travel Hoop under my desk at the office (for when stress gets overwhelming). This way, I will never have the excuse “But I don’t have my hoop, and I don’t feel like/have time to go get- my hoop”.

Cheers to 139 at age 32!

Hey HoopMama you are utterly entertaining! While sitting on my rear at my desk working from home. (Read I sit on my ass all day) I ran across something about hooping. Not sure how that happened.(and I’ll swear I was really working) Then this morning in my weight watchers meeting our fearless leader brought in one of those lumpy bumpy heavy hoops. I tried it after class and really wish I had a hoop of my own. So I’ve spent most of my day today looking at the Hoopnotica site along with HoopGirl. So a hoop of my own it will be and then reading your blog to keep me motivated. Hang in there. I have 50 pounds and I’ve knocked off 10 and I figure if you can stick with it so can I.
    Thanks fo rthe motivation.
