What an exciting month for Hoopnotica®! First, we
want to congratulate our founder Rayna on the birth of her new baby
hooper, Anjali! The new HoopMamma is resting and both are happy and
healthy after a home birth with NO DRUGS (holy hoop abs!). Check out
more on Rayna’s Blog HERE!
We are smack in the middle of launching the new
HoopFit™ program, received at fitness trade shows throughout the US and
Canada with enthusiasm and excitement. Our Hooping community is growing
so fast that we have been forced to relocate and hire new shipping
staff! We are thrilled to announce that Hoopnotica® is creating new
jobs and getting workers in our community back to work.
Check out our Scoop below to see what we’re up to for World Hoop Day! Don't forget to do your part, and check out our American Girl that comes with a FREE bonus hoop to donate to a friend in need!

Happy World Hoop Day!! 9/9/09
Hoopnotica® is doing it's part by partnering with the After-School All-Stars!
We will be donating all the hoop making supplies, teachers, and will be
supporting kids in learning choreography for an American Idol-style
"HoopOff"! The winners will be recognized at a school event and might
even get the change to perform at the Governor's Gala later this year; stay tuned for our YouTube-mentary on the whole experience!
Hoopnotica was also featured last month in Healthy Bitch
Daily, Metro News Canada, Fit Sugar, Celebutante Sisters Blog, Glow
Magazine- Canada, Prissygreen.com, the Pocono Record & the Omaha
World-Herald.

Nominate yourself or a friend to be Our Favorite Hooper! Send us a pic and your story HERE. If we choose your story, we'll send you out a beautiful Limited Edition Hoop! Name: Vicki Syal Hooper Since: 2007 Age: 25 Location: Los Angeles Occupation: Site-Coordinator with the After-School All-Stars Favorite Hoop: The TravelHoop and the Sparkler! Favorite Song to Hoop to: Any funky break beats that my friend John spins.
My friends love to throw these elaborate parties with great music.
Naturally hoops made their way into our scene. I always loved watching
everyone hoop - they looked so graceful and content, but I could never
seem to keep the hoop up. One day after watching my friend Wendy do
some amazing tricks- I became really determined to figure it out. I
marched up to the hoop, closed my eyes, focused on the music and it
just happened. I was totally ecstatic and I haven't been able to put
them down since.
The amazing thing about hooping is how it always seems to meet the
needs of your mood. It works to cool you off, or to hype you up. Thanks
to my TravelHoop I'm able to do it anywhere from the forest of Brazil to glaciers in Alaska.
What's more incredible is that Hoopnotica® is collaborating with my
non-profit organization to bring hooping to our students. I can't wait
to see what my kids are able to do after a few lessons and I'm sure
they'll impress everyone when they show off their new-found skills on
World Hoop Day!

Halos
This beautiful simple move is one of the first we teach for good
reason- it's easy to learn & a great way to tone the arms and upper
back! Here are some tips for making the most out of Halos.
1) PLACEMENT: When you are able to maintain the Halo in the palm of
your hand, you can then move it up into your fingers- this will
alleviate any discomfort on the back of your hand- and allow your
fingers and wrists to get stronger as well! 2) FEEL THE BURN:
Get yourself into a comfortable strong lower body stance with your
knees bent and core activated. Now keep the hoop in Halo for 3 sets of
20 switching hands each set. Work those Triceps!! Read more tips!
