As we stay afloat in the midst of graduations & the beginning of Summer plans~ take advantage of the focus and meditation that hooping can offer. Pay attention to your breath and allow the hoop to circle around you, creating flow and chi throughout your being. Practice slow hooping with control~ letting your body follow the hoop and allowing your mind to be at peace.
and a big I love you to all the Dads out there~

Age: 25
Occupation: Magazine Editor & Author
Favorite Hoop: Hoopnotica's Viva Las Vegas
Favorite Song to Hoop to: "Kingdom" by Craig Wedren
"It all started when I saw Anah (Hoopalicious) on America's Got Talent. I watched her routine with my mouth hanging open and thought that was the most fabulous thing I had ever seen. I just had to try it out for myself, so I bought a hoop and it didn't take me long to fall in love with it. The benefit of slimming down and strengthening your muscles is secondary to the wonderful freedom it has brought me, as well as confidence in my movements. I had never "danced" before, but this allowed me to learn and experiment.
Being a Hooper forces you to tune your focus to something that is not just about you, about the stress we all live with, or even about deep thinking. It is a time to wind down, to reflect, to feel beautiful and as though you are accomplishing something. It trains your body to use all of its naturally graceful traits, and it allows you to discover who you are. Hooping for me has been a release as much as a delight. There is nothing more fun than to get together a bunch of friends and hoop it up on a summer evening, but even when you are doing it alone, you always come away with a smile on your face." ~ Charity

Floor Work
Spice up your Hooping by dropping to the floor! All kinds of moves can be done on the floor- like Halos, Corkscrews, Chest & Shoulder Hooping. Floor work can be incredibly fun & great for isolating your upper body- plus it's a sure crowd pleaser! Here are some tips for making the most of gettin' down with it.
1. Protect the knees! Our knees aren't built with a lot of padding, so that's why we praise the inventor of knee pads! Grab a couple to help when learning or use a yoga mat underneath you when practicing to avoid any boo-boos.
2. Spice it up- tilt your head back, lie on your side and even on your back while keeping the hoop going adds a super sexy challenge!
